How to Create a Block in AutoCAD
Draw the Geometry Start by drawing the objects you want to include in the block. These could be symbols, furniture, fixtures, or any repetitive elements.
Select the Objects Type
BLOCKin the command line or go to the Insert tab and click Create Block. In the dialog box, give your block a name and click Select Objects to choose the geometry.Specify a Base Point Choose a base point for the block. This is the point you’ll use to insert the block later. You can either click on the drawing or enter coordinates.
Set Block Options Decide whether you want to retain, convert, or delete the original objects:
Retain: Keeps the original objects.
Convert to Block: Turns the selected objects into a block.
Delete: Removes the original objects after creating the block.
Click OK Once everything is set, click OK to create the block. You can now insert it anywhere using the
INSERTcommand or drag it from the block library.
